Summer Reading

I know I haven't posted in ages...However, I have a tres good excuse...Gone With The Wind. Have you read this book? I read it when I was 12 and didn't really understand it or retain it. I decided to reread it because I find old classics some of the best summer reading. Well needless to say I adore this book. It is so good. I can hardly put it down. Rather than blog on my lunch break I have been reading about Scarlett's woes.

Things have been fairly low key here lately. Our housemates, The Wilson's, are in Florida and North Carolina on vacation so the house has been fairly quite. The weather is finally warm thank the Lord. Yesterday was 93 degrees and today is supposed to be 94. Our house stays delightfully cool. In fact our house is so cool that we have spent the last few evenings on the warm patio rather than inside. I am testing foods and am rejoicing in the return of corn and peanut butter to my diet. We had tacos for dinner 3 nights in a row. It was delightful!

I have been riding my bike many places and am loving it more and more. Even in heat it is pleasant. We are counting down the days until our vacation to Colombia. 20 days and we will be off. Hope everyone is having lovely summer days!

  2. Yes, I have read that book! I love the history in it. It gave me a more compassionate view of the Confederates, especially during Reconstruction.
