Happy New Year

Well it's almost the 2010. I hope everyone has a good New Years Eve. Mr. P is in Portland for a few weeks doing some legal aid work so I will be flying solo tonight for my friends New Year's Eve Party. We spent Christmas with his family and he stayed up while I came back down to go to the Cabin with my family. Now I'm back home with Jess and while I miss Mr. P A LOT I am having lots of fun with Jess. I'm indulging in my favorite single behavoir, staying up until 2am, sleeping in until 9:30, eating cereal for dinner, barely cooking, shopping and watching lots of Dawson's Creek. Jess and I were talking not long ago and Dawson's Creek came up and we realized she had never seen it. Dawson's Creek was my favorite show in high school but I wasn't allowed to watch it so I only saw it at friends houses. So we decided to pick it up from the library. We are on the 2nd season and it's so entertaining. That being said, boy does it remind me how much I do NOT miss high school. Anyway have a great New Year.

I'm Back

I'm back from my much needed blogging break with lots of news and tidbits!

-The Board of Directors reconvened last week and decided to not lay me off after all. They ratified a budget for the first quarter. So I have a job for a few more months at least.

-I am officially ready for Christmas. Christmas cards have been sent, all presents have been purchased, Holiday menu planned. I still have to wrap a few presents and I still haven't watched a few of my favorite Christmas movies

-Mr. P's best friend and the best man at our wedding is on our couch for a bit. As messy as it makes our living room feel it's good to have him.

-The Christmas present I am hoping for the most is a new Jamie Oliver cook book. I'm hoping to spend Christmas day curled up with a glorious new cook book to read and then the rest of my vacation cooking up new delights.

-starting tomorrow at 2 I don't have to come back until the office until January 4th. That is 12 whole days!!! I'm so excited.

-Well that's all for now. Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

A Twist in the Road

I had a lot of great ideas for december blog posts. I wanted to post about my beautiful christmas tree, fudge, christmas parties, homeade presents and so on.

But....

Sometimes life takes twists and turns we don't expect. And that's been the case at Potter place this week. I have been laid off. I now join the masses of unemployed. Because Mr. P is in law school and will be taking the bar exam and the ethics bar this year he can't work. So I am the sole income in our house.

Honestly this has put a damper on my spirit a bit. It's hard, harder than I imagined. So blog friends you will have to bear with me a bit. I think I just need a few days and then sugar plums will be dancing in my head.

I know that even with this upset Mr. P and I are still so blessed. We have such wonderful friends and family and church that are all supporting us. We are loved and I know God will provide. Thank you to everyone who has been there for us and offered prayers for us.

Fall Photos

A while back my very talented friend JoAnna took photos of Mr. P and I. We had so much fun taking pictures with JoAnna and I highly recommend her to anyone in the Eugene/Springfield area. You can see more of her work at her website http://www.joannajamesphotography.com/.
